Some of the present leaders from both sides of the political fence like Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Dato' Seri Sanusi Junid, Dato' Manan Othman, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tengku Seri Paduka Raja, Nazri Tan Sri Aziz, Dato' Raja Ariffin Sulaiman, a few Menteris Besar, present and past, just to name a few, are also old boys.

It must be remembered that some of the early independence fighters were not politicians but civil servants. Many of the Sultans then were not very learned; in fact some of them were plain stupid and whiled away their time gambling, womanising, and smoking opium. (Come to think of it times have not changed much). Being wiser, the product of an MCKK education, these civil servants played a key role in advising and influencing the Sultans to resist the Malayan Union plan which was engineered by Sir Mc Michael. Left to themselves, the Sultans would have signed anything the British put before them. The fact that they did not understand what they signed did not help matters much.

During the days when the late Tun Abdul Razak was the Prime Minister of Malaysia, almost half the cabinet members were also old boys of the MCKK. On Wednesdays, the day when the cabinet meetings were held, half the cabinet members were wearing the same tie, coincidentally also the day when the old boys are supposed to wear their old college ties. It is said that when Tun Razak died and Tun Hussein Onn took over as the new Prime Minister he remarked, at his first cabinet meeting as Prime Minister, whether his Ministers had any other choice of ties. At the next Wednesday's cabinet meeting all the old College ties suddenly disappeared. I am sure that his father would have turned in his grave.
