Most of us were too eager to come back to koleq at the beginning
of Form Two. I could see all kind of hopes from my batch-mates’
eyes during the first day of Form Two. I guess, many of us could
not wait to be a senior, to enjoy a bit of 'perks'entitled to seniors
and to do a lot of things forbidden in Prep School. Personally,
by the end of 1991...many would agree with me if I say that all
those 'dreams' and 'hopes' were shattered into pieces.....nevertheless,
they were the things that had precipitated our maturity, to sift
the boys from the men! They taught us that there was still a long
way to go and life can never be as good as it looks at our first
glance!
Maybe the one thing that was so special about Form 2 was living
with other batches for the first time. None of us would forget Shini,
Kaza, Razi, Ainan and their comrades, though many of us would
not have sweet things to cherish about some of them! Nevertheless,
I think they gave us a brief picture of what we may encounter in
Big School. Bossy seniors, seniors who just like to spend
most of their time with ‘certain boys’, cocky seniors who stop short
of demanding that we bow every time they pass by, seniors who are
so pious and nice, that you would not have the heart to talk bad
things about them. I guess this is normal anywhere you go... Some
of us did find good companies with these Form 3 New Hostel. In my
case, I was really close to some of them, OK with most of them but
really in bad terms with a few of them.
There was only one thing that I could not stand about my Form 3
New Hostel - We had to wait for them to figure out what they
wanted to say during our BDK sessions! Phew....I just wanted
to laugh to see them playing around with a torch light and a piece
of paper with the list of our mistakes. Not sure whether they were
too nervous or lecturing people is no the kind of things they were
good at!
