It does not come that easy anyway...
Syed Moto and his colleagues strongly opposed the plan....
I guess every time we want to introduce a new thing, there will always
be a group of people who want to maintain the status quo. Some
people think that it is not a cool thing to do.... Form 5 do not decorate
their classes, let alone if we have to open our shoes before entering
the class... So, after all the fierce debates...there was a general
consensus that we must proceed with the plan. At last, Syed Moto and
Co. (that includes sapa lagi hah...?) surrendered their course....
Then, we got this problem to raise money. At that time, our form teacher was
Cikgu Ismail. We thought that he would not be so pleased with the plan, because we needed
more than RM 300 to refurbish the class... and we needed the money immediately. So,
our monitor (Fazurin) and few others went to see Miss Liew, the ever caring
Chemistry teacher... As nice as she has always been, she agreed to give us a loan.
Sometimes I just cannot stop smiling thinking of how nice she was...I do not think there
are many teachers out there who are willing to lend her students RM300 without asking too
much about it....
The story did not stop there... By doing so, I think we had lacerated Cikgu Ismail's
feelings. It was as if he could not take care of his own students... He must have felt
belittled.... So, we all apologised to him and after having few words with him, he was
satisfied with our explanation. Later in that month, we went to his house for a party. I
can still remember the nice food...and too bad, myself and few other friends were left
with all the drudgery when other people had left. |
